Get to know Step One Motorsports’ newest ambassador, Chandler Smith, as the 20-year-old
prepares for his NASCAR Truck Series championship fight this November.

Q: What are five things that we should know about you, Chandler?
“I grew up in a small town and met the woman God made for me when I was 15. We’re now married
and living six hours from where our family lives. I recognize that without God, I wouldn’t be where I
am today. Country music is the only music, and I like going fast!”

Q: Tell us about your career so far. What have been the highs, lows, and where did it all start?
“Honestly, I don’t see many lows. The only lows I’ve ever had are in the races we were going to win
and then something happened which resulted in us not finishing where we felt we should have. In
my opinion, it’s all highs because it’s a blessing to race cars for a living.”

Q: What is your favourite form of motorsports to watch on the weekend?
“NASCAR!”

Q: If you could take part in one race, which one would it be?
“The Daytona 24 Hours would be pretty neat to compete in, but I don’t have much interest in
IndyCar so definitely that over the Indy 500.”

Q: Describe the NASCAR Truck Series in three words.
“Hectic, competitive, and challenging.”

Q: Why should people watch the Truck Series?
“It’s one of the most competitive NASCAR series and one of the most entertaining forms of
motorsports right now.”

Q: What are your goals for the next 12 months?
“My goal is to stay on the path that God made for me and just keep on chugging.”

Q: Who inspires you and motivates you when you’re about to head out on track?
“My wife and my son, for sure.”

Q: When and where can we watch you race next?
“Phoenix Raceway on November 4 for the NASCAR Truck Series championship race.”
