Back and better than ever, the new Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA is suited to impress sports sedan enthusiasts everywhere. This highly anticipated, limited-edition package is lighter and more powerful than the Quadrifoglio, which is already one of the best compact sports sedans on the market.

Alfa Romeo will split a 500-car production run between the road-going Giulia GTA and a track-centric GTAm version. There are no current plans to sell this car in the United States, but opportunities are being evaluated to introduce the vehicle into other major markets around the globe, including the U.S.

A Lighter, Faster, and More Powerful GTA

The Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA is going to be 220 pounds lighter, thanks to a carbon-fiber driveshaft, hood, roof, front fascia, and fenders. In fact, the ‘A’ in GTA stands for alleggerita, which is Italian for ‘lightened.’ Need for speed? This powerful sedan can hit 62 miles per hour in just 3.6 seconds! The GTA features a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that can shell out a whopping 533 horsepower, which is even more than it’s previous engine with 505 horsepower.

Alfa Romeo made some additional improvements to the new GTA, including changes to the handling by widening the front and rear track by 2 inches. Alfa Romeo also included a broader fender for the new model, new springs and shocks, new dampers and bushings, and an updated suspension to further improve the sports sedans expert handling. Aerodynamics will also be improved, thanks to a front splitter, rear spoiler, and side skirts developed with the help of Sauber Engineering.

The Racing-Inspired Alfa Romeo GTAm

The GTAm is made for the racing enthusiast, with just two sets, a six point harness, and a roll bar. The wild thing- the GTAm is still fully street legal! A roll hoop replaces the rear seats, while front passengers can enjoy getting strapped into carbon-fiber-shell bucket seats with six-point seatbelts for extra protection.
